• Cyprus is overwhelmingly Greek Orthodox. Pray that people would not look to religion for salvation, but to a trusting faith and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
• In 1960, the islands, comprised mainly of a Greek majority and a Turkish minority.  Tensions arose between the two groups, and a conflict ensued.  To this day, the country is divided, and the Turkish north is recognized only by Turkey as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.  Talks are ongoing in order to reunite the island.  Pray for true unity on island, which can come about only through Christ.
